This particular storage approach is similar to one that used and proofed by the DOE program at Solar Two near Barstow back in the ’90′s where we had built a molten salt power tower.
We have a hot salt tank and a cold salt tank and I’ll show you have that works when I get to power towers. They’re using a similar set up here where they can either heat the salt in the cold tank with the fluid,go straight to the power block, or even split off some, and put some energy into storage while at the same time driving the power block. UPVC doors and UPVC Windows work like heat block in your house.
Molten salt has an advantage in that it addresses some of the issues related with renewable energy. When you think of these thermal plants one of the inherent issues that’s very good about them it they’re big. They have a lot fluid in them.
